As someone who wears mostly black in real life, you learn to mix up your fabrics and textures in order to make outfits not look like you are just wearing an all in one black sack.  This look really reflects that way of thinking so with many different patterns and textures to create something more visually appealing but all in one colour.  Plus the materials on these items are just divine and make everything look so soft and plush.

The jacket I have on is a velvet type texturing that has a soft and almost fluffy shine on it through the material maps.  I actually have a plain black jacket like this in real life.  The top also has materials that make the netting more 3D rather than flat lines which you often see on other tops like this, and it also gives the star pasties a nice shine.  Then you have the shorts which have a mermaid scale pattern on that is emphasised by the mapping which really makes the shorts look like a raised patterned fabric.  You have the shoes which have a highly detailed leather look, and the collar with a bashed up metallic feel.  It is all pretty neat and looks really good when you have some lights around you, especially coloured lights.

I love black because it is generally easy to put with each other considering I am slightly colourblind.  But in real life, I end up getting ginger cat hair all over myself and it looks terrible.  It is always the ginger one's hair that gets stuck to everything which is the most obviously looking one against black clothing.  It is highly irritating but I still love him.
